In some cases, intravenous (IV) injection of contrast agent is required which is usually injected into the hand vein. You may feel hot and have metallic taste in your mouth after accepting IV injection. These sensations are normal and will disappear within one minute.
When the exam table moves slowly into the scanner, you need to remain motionless position during the whole scan procedure. Sometimes, our radiographer will instruct you to hold your breath for the need of certain studies. Usually, the scan procedure lasts 10-45 minutes. The specific time varies from different body parts.
